Operation Breakthrough’s mission is to help children who are living in poverty develop to their fullest potential by providing them a safe, loving and educational environment.  We also strive to support and empower the children’s families through education, advocacy, emergency aid and referral services.

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• Master's Degree in Social Welfare, Psychology, Counseling or related field; clinical license required or under supervision for clinical licensure in identified field
• Formal training in the areas of family dynamics, trauma treatment, cognitive-behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, expressive techniques and other modalities;
• 2 years minimum successful experience providing individual and group treatment to high-risk adults;
• Alternatives to the above qualifications as administration may find appropriate and acceptable 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
 
• Maintain Missouri Licensure in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field;
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy to parents struggling with various mental health issues;
• Facilitate treatment-focused therapeutic groups addressing a variety of topics, including but not limited to healthy relationships; mental health; coping skills, mindfulness and parenting skills;
• Provide crisis intervention services—including suicide assessments, safety planning, and 
assistance with hospitalization as needed;
• Maintain collaborative relationships with referral agencies;
• Assess client progress using a variety of clinical assessment tools; maintain current and accurate files and database entry of all outcome measures;
• Provide Clinical Director and/or Clinic Coordinator with data, assessments and other information at requested deadlines;
• Collaborate with Child Therapists to support the whole family;
• Develop programming that supports the mental health needs of caregivers as identified by the clinical director;
• Provide narrative and outcome data as needed to meet all grant reporting deadlines;
• Interact respectfully and appropriately and with staff and families;
• Support parent programming during hours of operation and identified evenings;
• Work collaboratively across the Supportive Service department to serve families
  Other duties as assigned.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor office environment.  Socially and emotionally demanding.
